Repository Policy

SATUKATA: Jurnal Sains, Teknik, dan Studi Kemasyarakatan (Journal of Science, Engineering, and Society) is committed to ensuring that all published content is freely accessible, preserved for long-term access, and discoverable by researchers worldwide. Our Repository Policy outlines the guidelines for archiving and disseminating articles published in the journal.

1. Archiving and Repository Strategy

  • Open Access: All articles published in SATUKATA are open access and are deposited in institutional and subject-specific repositories to ensure their availability for public access. These repositories include trusted platforms and databases where published articles can be freely accessed by readers, researchers, and academics.

  • Global Repositories: SATUKATA partners with reputable digital repositories such as The Keepers to ensure the long-term archiving and preservation of all published content. This guarantees that articles remain accessible and discoverable even if the journal undergoes any changes in its hosting platform or editorial operations.

2. Deposit in Institutional and Subject-Specific Repositories

  • Authors are encouraged to deposit the final version of their articles in their institutional repositories or any other relevant subject-specific repositories that support open access publishing.

  • SATUKATA will ensure that all published articles are indexed and available in widely recognized academic databases and repositories such as Google Scholar and CORE, facilitating global visibility and accessibility.

3. Permanent Digital Object Identifier (DOI)

  • Each article published in SATUKATA is assigned a DOI (Digital Object Identifier), ensuring a permanent, consistent, and reliable link to the article. The DOI ensures that even if the journal's URL changes, the article can still be located, cited, and accessed without disruption.

4. Content Preservation and Backup

  • All content published in SATUKATA is regularly backed up to ensure data security and long-term preservation. The journal takes proactive measures to safeguard the integrity of its content by keeping reliable backup copies, ensuring that it is preserved for future access.

  • The journal also ensures that archived articles are preserved in compliance with long-term archiving standards, allowing for content to be reliably stored and accessible for decades.

5. Accessibility and Discoverability

  • SATUKATA ensures that all published content is indexed and discoverable through various academic search engines and databases, such as Google Scholar, ICI Copernicus, and other scholarly platforms.

  • The journal provides free and open access to its articles on its official website, and content will be indexed and stored in institutional and public repositories to enhance global visibility.

6. Versioning and Updates

  • The final, peer-reviewed version of each article will be deposited in repositories. If any article is updated (for example, with corrections or errata), both the original and updated versions will be available, and the changes will be clearly noted.

7. Long-Term Preservation Commitments

  • SATUKATA collaborates with digital preservation services to ensure that articles remain accessible even if the journal’s website or platform changes over time. Through services like The Keepers, the content is preserved to meet the best standards for digital archiving.

  • The journal complies with academic publishing best practices and makes every effort to ensure that content remains accessible, discoverable, and usable for as long as possible.

8. Author’s Right to Self-Archiving

  • Authors are permitted and encouraged to archive the final version of their manuscript (after peer review and editorial approval) in their own institutional repositories or other subject-specific repositories. However, this should be done in accordance with the open access policy, and appropriate attribution must be given to the journal.

9. Retraction and Withdrawal

  • In the case of article retraction, the original article will remain in the repository, but a formal retraction notice will be issued. All retracted articles will be clearly marked as "retracted" to inform readers of the status.

  • If any articles are withdrawn for any reason, they will be removed from public access and repositories, but the retraction will be officially noted.

By adhering to this Repository Policy, SATUKATA ensures that all research published in the journal is preserved for long-term access, widely disseminated, and freely available to the global academic community. The policy supports the journal's commitment to open access, knowledge sharing, and the integrity of scholarly communication.
