Copyright Transfer Agreement

This Copyright Transfer Agreement outlines the terms under which the copyright of a manuscript is transferred from the author(s) to SATUKATA: Jurnal Sains, Teknik, dan Studi Kemasyarakatan (Journal of Science, Engineering, and Society) upon acceptance of the manuscript for publication.

1. Transfer of Copyright

By submitting a manuscript to SATUKATA, the author(s) agree to transfer the copyright of the accepted manuscript to the journal upon its acceptance for publication. This transfer of copyright is necessary to allow SATUKATA to:

  • Publish the manuscript in the journal.

  • Make the manuscript freely accessible under an open access license (Creative Commons Attribution - CC BY).

  • Archive and disseminate the manuscript as part of the journal's publications, ensuring that it is accessible to the global academic community.

2. Author’s Rights

The author(s) retain the following rights:

  • Right to Use: Authors are free to use their work in future publications, presentations, or research, provided proper attribution is made to the original article published in SATUKATA.

  • Right to Reproduce: Authors may reproduce their work for educational purposes, subject to proper citation.

  • Right to Self-Archiving: Authors may deposit the final version of the article in institutional repositories or on personal websites, provided that it is properly attributed to SATUKATA and the final version is not altered.

3. Licensing

  • Creative Commons License: The article will be published under the Creative Commons Attribution (CC BY) license, which allows others to share, distribute, remix, and adapt the work, even for commercial purposes, as long as the original author(s) and source are properly credited.

  • No Exclusive License: The transfer of copyright does not constitute an exclusive license. Authors can continue to use the manuscript in other works, as long as they acknowledge SATUKATA as the original publisher.

4. Author’s Responsibilities

  • Correctness of Data: Authors guarantee that the data, figures, and references presented in the manuscript are accurate, original, and not plagiarized.

  • Permission for Third-Party Content: If the manuscript includes third-party content (e.g., images, data, tables), authors must have obtained the necessary permissions to use and reproduce these materials in the manuscript.

  • Conflicts of Interest: Authors must disclose any potential conflicts of interest that could affect the impartiality of the manuscript.

5. Journal’s Responsibilities

  • Publication and Distribution: SATUKATA will publish the accepted manuscript in the journal, make it freely available to the public, and distribute it via its website and other relevant platforms.

  • Archiving: SATUKATA will archive the manuscript in appropriate repositories for long-term preservation and accessibility.

  • Transparency: SATUKATA will ensure transparency in the publication process and will make the final published version of the manuscript available to readers, with all due credits to the authors.

6. Withdrawal of Manuscript

  • In the event that the manuscript is withdrawn prior to publication, the author(s) retain the copyright, and any preliminary agreements for the transfer of rights are rendered void.

  • If a manuscript is withdrawn after acceptance but before publication, the journal will remove it from its publication queue, and the copyright remains with the author(s).

7. Dispute Resolution

Any dispute arising from the copyright transfer agreement will be resolved through mutual negotiation. In case of unresolved disputes, the issue will be referred to the editorial board of SATUKATA for further action.

8. Acknowledgment

By submitting the manuscript, the author(s) acknowledge and agree to the terms of this Copyright Transfer Agreement. Authors are also responsible for ensuring that all co-authors are aware of and agree to the copyright transfer terms.
