IMPLEMENTASI PEMBIASAAN SHALAT DHUHA DALAM MENINGKATKAN KEDISIPLINAN SISWA DI MI TARBIYATUL ATHFAL

This study is motivated by the low level of student discipline in Islamic elementary schools, as reflected in habitual tardiness, lack of adherence to classroom rules, and weak consistency in fulfilling learning responsibilities. Discipline is one of the essential character values that should be instilled from an early age, and one strategy considered effective is through the habituation of religious practices. The duha prayer is regarded not only as an act of worship but also as an educational activity with the potential to train students to be orderly, punctual, and responsible. This research aims to describe the implementation of duha prayer habituation at MI Tarbiyatul Athfal Karawang, analyze its impact on student discipline, and identify supporting and inhibiting factors. The study employed a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. Data were analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model, which consists of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing, while validity was ensured through source, technique, and time triangulation. The findings indicate that the regular duha prayer program, held every Friday morning, significantly contributes to shaping student discipline. This discipline encompasses time (arriving earlier), behavior (being orderly and following instructions), social (respecting turns and cooperating), spiritual (increasing religious awareness), emotional (becoming calmer and more focused), and indirectly academic discipline (seriousness in learning). The obstacles identified include the absence of a dedicated prayer room, limited worship facilities, and inconsistency in home practice.
