IMPLEMENTASI ICE BREAKING UNTUK MENINGKATKAN KONSENTRASI BELAJAR SISWA PADA MATA PELAJARAN IPA TEMA WUJUD BENDA DI KELAS III MI NURUL FALAH MAJALAYA KARAWANG

This study aims to improve the learning concentration of third-grade students at MI Nurul Falah Majalaya in the Science subject, specifically on the theme States of Matter, through the implementation of ice breaking activities. The research was motivated by students’ low concentration, indicated by passive attitudes, boredom, and lack of focus during lessons. A descriptive qualitative approach was applied, with data collected through observation, interviews, documentation, and tests in the form of pretests and posttests. The subjects consisted of 38 students from class IIIA in the 2024/2025 academic year. The research findings indicate a significant improvement in students’ concentration and learning achievement. Based on observation data, student activeness, which was initially only 44.7% before the implementation of ice breaking, increased to 86.84% after the activity was applied. Meanwhile, test results showed an increase in learning mastery, from 47.3% in the pretest to 81.5% in the posttest. These results were also supported by interviews with the classroom teacher, who confirmed that ice breaking was effective in reducing boredom, restoring focus, and creating a more dynamic and conducive classroom atmosphere. Thus, the implementation of ice breaking proved to be effective in enhancing students’ concentration as well as their active participation, fostering a more enjoyable learning environment, and supporting the achievement of learning objectives in science, particularly on the theme of States of Matter.
