Key drivers affecting safety intervention success: evidence from Thai construction industry
Built Environment Project and Asset Management
Abstract
Purpose: Safety interventions are a crucial component of organizational strategy, which are aimed at mitigating factors that compromise workplace safety. In the construction industry, these interventions are vital owing to the high-risk nature of construction activities. For developing effective safety interventions, the underlying factors that drive the need for these interventions must be understood. This study identifies and analyzes the critical factors driving safety interventions in Thai construction projects, focusing on both situational and organizational factors. Design/methodology/approach: A survey conducted with a questionnaire among medium- to large-sized building contractors in Bangkok and nearby areas garnered 98 project responses. To validate the constructs of reasons for safety interventions and identify critical safety practices, the data were analyzed using confirmatory factor analysis and structural equation modeling. Findings: The results indicate that organizational factors, positively influenced by situational factors, have a direct effect on safety interventions. Successful safety interventions can be obtained by focusing on five key organizational factors: safety as a core value, continuous improvement plans, leadership and management support, safety strategies and policies and safety committees. Originality/value: These results provide valuable insights for construction site management, providing guidance on improving safety interventions via the effective utilization of these critical factors. © 2025, Emerald Publishing Limited.

From Perpetrators to Partners: Juvenile Offenders Perspective on Student Mass Fighting Prevention in Indonesia
Asian Social Work and Policy Review
Abstract
Adolescent physical fights are a significant social problem worldwide, with a rising incidence of mass school fights in Indonesia highlighting the need for targeted interventions. Despite this, research often overlooks the perspectives of the offenders themselves. This study aims to address this gap by examining protective factors and prevention strategies from the viewpoint of Indonesian juvenile offenders. Using in-depth interviews and thematic analysis with four juvenile offenders across three correctional institutions, the research identifies several key strategies for prevention. These include strengthening parental connections, providing positive adult role models, severing ties with delinquent peers, and offering education on adaptive coping strategies. Effective prevention also involves establishing robust parent–child relationships and implementing school programs that address honor-related conflicts. Furthermore, the study suggests that educating adolescents about positive masculinity, incorporating anger management training, and utilizing cognitive-behavioral therapy can significantly reduce the likelihood of involvement in mass student fighting. By adopting these approaches, communities can more effectively address and mitigate the underlying factors contributing to adolescent violence and promote more constructive conflict resolution methods. © 2025 John Wiley & Sons Australia, Ltd.

BIO Web of Conferences
Abstract
The Cosmological Axis of Yogyakarta was designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2023, highlighting its Outstanding Universal Value (OUV). However, rapid urbanization and increased vehicle emissions threaten the area's cultural and environmental sustainability. This study aims to address these challenges by evaluating perceptions of sustainable mobility solutions and their alignment with OUV requirements. Using geospatial analysis, emission modeling, and stakeholder surveys, the research identifies critical traffic patterns and emission hotspots. The findings reveal that while most areas maintain acceptable air quality, zones with high congestion require targeted interventions. The proposed recommendations include enhancing public transportation with low-emission vehicles, expanding pedestrian and cycling infrastructure, and implementing low-emission zones. These measures aim to preserve the cultural and ecological integrity of the Cosmological Axis while fostering environmental and social well-being. This study contributes to sustainable heritage management by providing actionable insights for urban planners and policymakers in managing World Heritage Sites under the pressures of climate adaptation. © The Authors, published by EDP Sciences.

BLOCKCHAIN TECHNOLOGY INNOVATION AS AN OPTIMIZATION OF TRANSACTION SECURITY IN ISLAMIC FINANCIAL INSTITUTIONS
Journal of Central Banking Law and Institutions
Abstract
This study examines the role of blockchain technology in enhancing security within Islamic financial institutions, which adhere to Sharia principles emphasising transparency, fairness, and ethical conduct. The primary purpose is to explore blockchain’s potential to address financial risks and inefficiencies while ensuring compliance with Islamic values. Islamic financial institutions face challenges maintaining transaction security and transparency under Sharia constraints, especially as risks like fraud, manipulation, and operational inefficiencies persist. Blockchain’s decentralised ledger system offers solutions by ensuring immutable transaction records, real-time transparency, and secure cryptographic frameworks. Smart contracts further automate Sharia-compliant processes, reducing risks of non-compliance and fraud, while operational efficiencies are achieved through reduced costs and faster transaction processing. However, implementing blockchain in Sharia financial institutions faces limitations, including a lack of technical expertise, regulatory clarity, and inadequate infrastructure in many regions. These barriers highlight the need for capacity-building initiatives and robust regulations to support blockchain adoption in Islamic finance. The study emphasises blockchain’s transformative potential to revolutionise Islamic finance, fostering trust and operational excellence while overcoming current barriers through collaborative efforts. Further research is necessary to optimise blockchain’s integration into this sector. © 2025, Bank Indonesia Institute. All rights reserved.

Restorative justice in Indonesian criminal law: Integrating Pancasila values in police discretion practices
International Journal of Innovative Research and Scientific Studies
Abstract
Restorative Justice (RJ) has become an alternative approach in criminal law, emphasizing reconciliation and social restoration rather than punitive measures. This study examines the implementation of RJ in Indonesia by integrating Pancasila values, particularly the principles of Just and Civilized Humanity and Social Justice. The research employs a qualitative approach, utilizing a literature review, interviews with law enforcement officers, and case analysis of RJ applications under Indonesian National Police Regulation No. 8 of 2021. The findings reveal that RJ provides a humanistic and rehabilitative approach through mediation and dialogue, reducing the burden on the judicial system and strengthening social cohesion. However, inconsistencies in police discretion, cultural resistance, and a lack of structured training pose significant challenges to its implementation. The study concludes that while RJ aligns with Indonesia's legal and philosophical foundation, it requires legal reinforcement through statutory recognition, enhanced police training programs, and increased public awareness to ensure consistency and effectiveness. This research contributes to the discourse on RJ by demonstrating its potential to harmonize legal certainty with social justice, advocating for a balanced legal framework that integrates Pancasila values into Indonesia's criminal justice system. © 2025 by the authors.

Formation of Professional Hardiness in Future Food Industry Specialists
Lecture Notes in Networks and Systems
Abstract
The article presents the technology for designing the goals and content for developing professional resilience in future food technology specialists. The development of this technology is based on the premise that the professional hardiness of specialists is a systemic personal-professional quality, and its formation is ensured by the development of resilient attitudes that help assess situations and the readiness to act to overcome negative situations actively. The authors understand the development of this technology as the sequential execution of three stages. The first stage involves analyzing the structure of professional activities of food industry specialists, by the industry structure (technique, technology, economics, ecology, legal issues of the industry, labor protection, and industrial sanitation). The second stage entails the formation of a system of professional challenges, by the outlined structure of the professional activities of food industry specialists. The third stage is the modeling of goals for the formation of professional resilience at the strategic (professional training), tactical (academic discipline, according to the generalized structure of the food industry), and operational (academic session) levels. At this stage, the authors utilized the matrix modeling method, which presents a matrix representation of educational content. This approach allows for systematically forming the mentioned quality by the scientific understanding of its essence. The results of an empirical study on the formation of professional resilience in students who have undergone training using the developed technology are presented. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2025.

Asset restitution reform to ensure legal protection and fairness for investors
Journal of Law and Legal Reform
Abstract
Emerging concerns in the legal domain are a direct result of the digital age's advancements in the economic sphere. Binary options' rise to prominence is a topic worthy of discussion, particularly with regard to the breadth of asset returns in such instances. Binary option victims are questioning the fairness of the state's claim to assets in light of the recent court ruling in the Indra Kenz and Doni Salmanan case. This research aims to help victims of binary options get their money back through restitution by analyzing the problem and offering remedies. The victims of binary option crimes will have their rights protected; that much is certain. Solutions to the problem of investor asset return can be found by using normative methodologies in the examination of statutes, case studies, and concepts. This study finds that victims of illegal activities can regain their possessions through restitution, which also provides a sense of justice and guarantees legal protection for their rights. People can suffer materially, emotionally, and psychologically as a result of committing a criminal offense. Based on the priorities of legal protection and justice, this research is anticipated to provide a solution for law enforcement in the return of assets for binary option criminal offenses. © 2024 Authors.

The Development of Health Criminal Law in The Perspective of Dignified Justice: What and How?
Jurnal IUS Kajian Hukum dan Keadilan
Abstract
Health criminal law in Indonesia has developed significantly since the colonial era until now, marked by the birth of various laws and regulations governing criminal aspects in the health sector. This research aims to analyze the development of health criminal law in Indonesia from the perspective of dignified justice, as well as identify challenges and formulate efforts needed in developing health criminal law in line with the principles of dignified justice. This research uses a normative legal research method with a statutory and conceptual approach, examining primary, secondary, and tertiary legal materials through literature studies. Data analysis was conducted qualitatively with a descriptive-analytical approach, involving the process of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results of the study explain that the development of health criminal law in Indonesia shows a significant evolution, from limited arrangements in the Criminal Code of colonial heritage to comprehensive laws such as Law No. 36/2009 on Health. The perspective of dignified justice is reflected in efforts to balance the protection of patient rights, the professionalism of health workers, and the interests of society. Although there has been progress, there are still challenges such as the application of the ultimum remedium principle, the balance of rights protection, and adaptation to the development of health technology. Efforts to develop health criminal law in line with the principles of dignified justice require a thorough evaluation of criminal provisions, capacity building of law enforcement officers, development of regulations that are sensitive to the diversity of health practices, and collaboration between stakeholders to deal with the complexity of contemporary health issues. © 2024, Mataram University Faculty of Law. Modeling Air Pollution Levels Using Integrated Weather Stations and Attention Layer Network Methods
2024 International Conference on Decision Aid Sciences and Applications, DASA 2024
Abstract
Weather factors are influenced by air pollution modeling, which is a major challenge. Consequently, local weather variables must be considered when predicting pollution levels. To model air pollution levels, this research will combine pollution and weather data. The deep learning component that gives rise to the concept of attention is the Attention Layer Network (ALN). The Attention Layer has become very important because of its proven empirical efficacy in modeling sequences, such as language. This approach works well for modeling. Therefore, by utilizing information from the Internet of Things-based weather stations, this research will predict air pollution levels using the ALN approach. These findings demonstrate the high level of accuracy of the ALN model which can predict several environmental conditions. These findings demonstrate the high level of accuracy of the ALN model which can predict several environmental conditions. The research results show minimum prediction error and good performance, with the resulting R2 value close to 1 and low RMSE, MAE and MAPE values. Improved prediction performance is the result of the implementation of the Attention Layer, which sharpens the emphasis on key elements of incoming data. © 2024 IEEE.

Blockchain-Based Property Sukuk Models for the Indonesian Market
2024 International Conference on Artificial Intelligence, Blockchain, Cloud Computing, and Data Analytics, ICoABCD 2024
Abstract
The Indonesian property sector has experienced significant growth, with a remarkable 54% annual increase in property prices and a 9% rise in real estate companies' profits over the past decade, driven by rapid urbanisation and robust economic development. This growth underscores the need for innovative and transparent financing solutions. This study investigates the potential integration of blockchain technology into a sukuk model tailored for Indonesia's property market. Sukuk, which comply with Sharia principles, offer asset ownership opportunities and could significantly benefit from blockchain technology by enhancing ownership certainty, streamlining transactions, enabling real-time monitoring, and reducing both costs and associated risks. Despite the promising synergies, the application of blockchain in Indonesian sukuk remains largely unexplored. The research methodology involves qualitative interviews with industry experts and simulations to thoroughly examine the sukuk processes, identify potential challenges, and evaluate the benefits that blockchain can offer. Anticipated outcomes include greater market efficiency and enhanced transparency; however, challenges such as regulatory hurdles and issues related to technology adoption may arise. The study proposes a collaborative framework involving Islamic financial institutions, property developers, and blockchain experts to develop a robust and effective sukuk model. This research is pioneering in its approach and aims to provide transformative insights into how blockchain could revolutionize sukuk financing in Indonesia's rapidly expanding property sector. © 2024 IEEE.

Addressing Challenges in Halal Certification Using Blockchain Technology
Emerging Technology and Crisis Management in The Halal Industry: Issues and Recent Developments
Abstract
Recently, there have been increased studies on the use of blockchain technology in many sectors but require further development in the Islamic sector. Discussion on how blockchain technology can fit in to improve the Islamic-based process, mainly for the Halal industry, needs to be extended. This chapter aims to address challenges in Halal certification using blockchain technology. Through the religious institutional theory of Shariah compliance, this chapter provides a frame-work for addressing challenges in Halal certification using blockchain technology. This chapter presents four challenges in Halal certification with blockchain solutions for each. Challenges in Halal certification include unrecognised and centralised Halal certification, information about Halal products, non-compliance, as well as trust and authenticity. Meanwhile, theoretical contributions include two developments: a liter-ature review in the context of Halal certification and the use of religious institutional theory. Practical contributions include the best practices for improving processes using blockchain technology in Halal certification and understanding how to use the blockchain technology advantage to improve the Halal certification process. This chapter can be extended to empirical evidence and uses the combination of religious institutional theory and information system theory. © The Editor(s) (if applicable) and The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2024.

Productive WAQF business models through the integration of Islamic social and commercial finance
Edelweiss Applied Science and Technology
Abstract
Poverty is an apparent problem in Indonesia, with the number of people living in poverty reaching 26.36 million. Islamic Social Finance (ISF), especially through productive waqf instruments, is one of the prospective solutions to overcome this problem. Although Indonesia has enormous waqf potential, waqf realisation is still very low. There are several challenges in the waqf collection process, namely low literacy or public awareness, unprofessional management, and a lack of qualified human resources (nazhir). This research aims to determine the optimal productive waqf model to be implemented in Indonesia using the Delphi ANP-BOCR method. To strengthen the research results, this study also conducted a meta-analysis as a form of robustness check and a benefits, opportunities, costs, and risks (BOCR) analysis of each model as supporting arguments. The findings of this study show that Islamic banks as a way to leverage funds for waqf are the most prioritised model. This is because Islamic banks act as intermediary institutions that have great potential for optimising the collection and management of waqf funds, which can increase economic growth. This is reinforced by the results obtained from the meta-analysis and several supporting arguments, which show that Islamic financial institutions (including Islamic banks) can improve community welfare through the utilisation of social funds (including waqf). Besides that, this research also discusses an alternative model of productive waqf through digitalisation by adopting several technologies that aim to increase efficiency, transparency, and accessibility so as to optimise the collection and management of waqf funds more effectively and efficiently. © 2024 by the authors; licensee Learning Gate.

Abstract
Purpose: This study aimed to explore whether religiosity was associated with reduced violence in a representative sample of the population of the Solo community in Indonesia. Methods: This cross-sectional observational study was conducted through face-to-face interviews between 2020 and 2024, involving 100 people aged 25 years and older. The survey included indicators of religiosity (religiosity and importance of religion), violence (involvement in fights, domestic violence, and police detention), depression, social support, and alcohol dependence. We use logistic regression models and mediation analysis. In the analysis of the total sample, after adjustment, religious attitudes were negatively associated with reduced involvement in fights and fewer police arrests, whereas the importance of religion was only associated with fewer fights. Results and Conclusion: These findings suggest that Solo's religiosity appears to be an important factor associated with low levels of violence in this nationally representative survey, and alcohol dependence appears to mediate this relationship. These findings should be examined by the Minister of Religion, Education, and Health. Research implications: This research implies that the concept of religiosity can be used as a measure to minimize violence in Solo and Indonesia. Originality/value: The originality of the research lies in the function of religiosity to minimize violence that this study conducted in a Solo society. © 2024 ANPAD - Associacao Nacional de Pos-Graduacao e Pesquisa em Administracao. Analysis of Automation Testing Using Repeato for Functional Testing of the Yess Nutrition Application Based on Flutter
E3S Web of Conferences
Abstract
Automated testing has the advantage of executing test cases faster than manual testing and has a higher accuracy rate because it can detect more defects in the application. Automated testing is also effective for regression testing performed when there is a fix or update, to ensure that the fix does not cause new bugs to appear in the system. Therefore, automated testing becomes essential to replace manual testing. Automated testing involves the use of testing tools or frameworks that can reduce the time required in the testing process. This paper reviews Repeato software as an automatic testing tool, where Repeato works based on Computer vision. Experiments were conducted to see the test steps and results of the application display rendering time using the Repeato tool. The advantage of Repeato lies in its ability to automate visualbased testing, which can save the time and effort required in manual testing. However, as is the case with other testing tools, Repeato also has its limitations and drawbacks. Repeatos may not be able to recognize visual elements that are very complex or have arbitrary patterns. Repeato can conduct two rounds of tests on the Yess Nutrition application within 216 seconds, which is equivalent to 3.6 minutes. © The Authors, published by EDP Sciences.

Abstract
Bakar Tongkang Festival (BTF), or Go Ge Cap Lak, burning a replica of a barge or fishermen's boat festival, is a Chinese fisherman ritual in Bagansiapiapi, Indonesia. The festival is held every 5th month (Go) on the 16th (Cap Lak) of the Chinese calendar. This study aims to describe the festival and analyze the tourism aspect and the economic impact on the region. The sample populations were Chinese community leaders, Malay community leaders, tourism entrepreneurs, public transportation entrepreneurs, the government, domestic and foreign visitors, and the public audience. Data were collected through observations and interviews with the respondents. Commemoration of the arrival of ethnic Chinese in Bagansiapiapi, Indonesia marked the beginning of the birth of BTF. BTF is the biggest annual event in Rokan Hilir Regency. During this festival, visitors generally perform some rituals and pray to the gods. The procession of praying and remembering the spirits of their ancestors started from the oldest temple in Bagansiapiapi Ing Hok King Temple. The festival is also enlivened by other events and attractions. It attracted local, national, and international tourists. So far the event is well known abroad and brings tourists from Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Taiwan, China, and others. Visitors no longer only come to pray, but they also come to shops, return to their hometown, leisure, and even business. The BTF had a good impact on the local economy, through visitor spending on hotels, guesthouses, increased sales and purchases of basic needs products, and use of all modes of transportation. In the future, it is highly recommended that this BTF be better organized by promoting it more broadly and in combination with other tourism events. In addition, it can be used as an event for business meetings, scientific meetings, and other cultural activities. © 2023, Pro Global Science Association. All rights reserved.

Optimization of the Procurement Process of Pharmaceutical Supplies at Dr. M Goenawan Partowidigdo Pulmonary Hospital with a Lean Six Sigma Approach
BIO Web of Conferences
Abstract
Internal barriers in the procurement process and pharmaceutical supply planning are barriers that can be controlled through interventions. The research focuses on proposing changes to the pharmaceutical supply management system, particularly in the aspects of planning and procurement within the internal team of the RSPG Cisarua Bogor. The intervention in this research applying lean six sigma extends only up to the improve phase. Data collection involves in-depth interviews with informants involved in the pharmaceutical supply planning and procurement process, as well as observation and document analysis. The research ends in group discussions to reach an agreement. The research findings reveal that a lack of established procedures in the pharmaceutical supply procurement process contributes to prolonged procedures and the absence of efficiency benchmarks within the system. Moreover, an unavailability of tools to facilitate the pharmaceutical supply procurement process causes low internal team communication. The improve phase of lean six sigma leads to proposed changes to the standards of operational procedures for routine pharmaceutical procurement, indicator applications of procurement efficiency and the utilization of the ABC VEN functioning as a tool within the pharmaceutical supply procurement process. The proposed improvement to tackle the matter includes the utilization of ABC VEN and efficiency indicators to overcome waste overproduction identified during the pharmaceutical supply planning process. In addition, it also involves the establishment of a new standard of operating procedure covering timelines, tools for pharmaceutical supply categorization based on ABC VEN and procurement efficiency indicator to handle waste waiting during the pharmaceutical supply procurement process. © 2023 The Authors, published by EDP Sciences.

Rejuvenated of Dairy Cows After Foot and Mouth Disease Infection Using Combination of Complete Feed to Increase Milk Production
Advances in Animal and Veterinary Sciences
Abstract
The Foot and Mouth Disease (FMD) has been reported in Indonesia, which has impacted dairy cows. This research aimed to investigate the impact of various feed combinations on both milk production and quality in dairy cows that were previously infected with FMD. This research used 15 dairy cows that had been diagnosed with FMD. The cows were subsequently divided into three groups of feed treatment, each consisting of five cows. Group I, cows were fed a combination of basal feed and Karfeed concentrate, Group II, cows had a variety of basal feed, Karfeed concentrate, and premix, and Group III, cows got a combination of basal feed and Protelis® concentrate. The study had 55 days of treatment. The evaluation of milk production and quality was conducted before and after treatment. The research showed that all cows were diagnosed as healthy after suffering from FMD based on clinical symptoms, antibodies to FMD, and the FMD virus examined by Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR). This result presents a significant difference (p <0.05) in milk production, which is a combination of basal feed with Protelis® concentrate supplementation. However, the milk quality presents insignificant differences (p >0.05). In summary, the composition between basal feed and Protelis® concentrate increased milk production by 28.3% and improved the quality of milk protein, milk fat, lactose, solid non-fat, and total solid. © 2023 by the authors. Comparative Analysis of The Effectiveness of Punishment Over Corruption in Indonesia and Hong Kong
Journal of Educational and Social Research
Abstract
This research aims to compare the effectiveness of punishment imposed on corruption as a crime in Indonesia and Hong Kong. The normative method was employed by conducting library research in the process of data searching, where the authors read and studied the primary and secondary research data. The analysis result concludes that Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 31 of 1999 on Corruption Eradication and Law Number 20 of 2001 on the Amendment to Law Number 31 of 1999 on Corruption Eradication and Law Number 30 of 2002 on Corruption Eradication Commission deal with corruption crimes. Moreover, Indonesia establishes an official body particularly intended to deal with corruption investigations, the Corruption Eradication Commission (henceforth referred to as KPK). In comparison, Hong Kong also governs corruption cases using the Independent Commission Against Corruption Ordinance, Prevention of Bribery Ordinance, and the Elections (Corrupt and Illegal Conduct) Ordinance. Further, Hong Kong has Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC) as an institution fully authorized to investigate corruption cases. The KPK and ICAC share a similar strategic model but employ different ways of execution. From the effectiveness of the law perspective, Hong Kong seems to demonstrate a more effective approach since the real and deterring sentence is directly imposed on the case to encourage others to think twice before committing corruption. The sentencing in Hong Kong was once lambasted and condemned since it was perceived as violating human rights, but it seems to be the only way for Hong Kong to eradicate corruption effectively. This research recommends that another amendment to Law Number 20 of 2001 on Corruption Eradication. © 2023 Cahyani et al.

Legal Policy of State Financial Losses Arrangement in a State-Owned Enterprise
Bestuur
Abstract
This research aimed to examine the elements of state loss in regulations concerning the legal policy of state financial arrangements in a bankrupt state-owned enterprise and to analyze the effort of asset recovery related to state loss due to corruption based on the prevailing law in Indonesia and China. This is normative legal research with a comparative approach, with China being taken as a comparison. The study indicated that the elements of state loss are short of money, securities, and goods; it was caused by unlawful actions, either intentionally or negligently; and losses whose amount can be calculated based on the findings of the authorized agency or appointed public accountant, in the Indonesian legal system, asset recovery efforts can be examined from the perspective of criminal law and administrative law. The substance of state finances reveals the same element, namely that the financial loss of SOEs is a loss to state finances. In the execution of court decisions on SOE-owned assets in bankruptcy cases, the regulation does not provide fair legal recognition, protection, certainty, and equal treatment before the law in the management and accountability of state finances. © 2023 JOURNAL OF ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING. Ensuring Justice: An In-depth Analysis of Witness Protection in Divorce Cases within the Religious Court in Indonesia
Al-Ahkam: Jurnal Ilmu Syari'ah dan Hukum
Abstract
The aim of this research is to analyze witness protection in divorce cases in Indonesia. Witnesses are one of the pieces of evidence used in divorce cases in the Religious Court, yet witnesses brought forth during trials face threats and legal demands. Meanwhile, the aspect of witness protection remains unregulated. This article questions why it is crucial to protect witnesses in divorce cases in religious courts and what constitutes an ideal concept of witness protection. This research employs a legislative and case-based approach. This article suggests that witness protection is highly significant as witnesses are often utilized as evidence. Based on 709 applications from non-criminal cases seeking protection from the Witness and Victim Protection Agency, it is evident that the Witness and Victim Protection Act only regulates witnesses in criminal offenses. It extends beyond the interests of the petitioner and the respondent. Yet, it has to be in the interest of the witnesses and the court so as to achieve truth and justice. Simply speaking, the protection of witnesses should be regulated under the Witness and Victim Protection Act. © 2023, Sharia Faculty, Universitas Islam Negeri Raden Mas Said Surakarta. Cultural-Based Deviance on Islamic Law; Zakat Tekke Wale’ Spending in Basala, Konawe, Southeast Sulawesi, Indonesia
Al-Ihkam: Jurnal Hukum dan Pranata Sosial
Abstract
Owners of swallow's nest in Basala District, South Konawe Regency give zakat of tekke wale' (swallow's nest) using gold zakat rate. This implies deviation from Islamic law and striking difference from the provisions of zakat law formulated by most Muslim scholars. This research aims to reveal the business phenomenon and practice of tekke wale' zakat spending, the factors beyond preference to use zakat with gold rate as well as culture-based deviations on Islamic law regarding this specific practice of zakat. This research is qualitative with an empirical-normative approach which includes interviews with swallow nest owners, community leaders, and religious leaders. Besides, it involves literature review to gather the data. The research shows that swallow nest business is a relatively new livelihood for local people so they have no definite guidance on how to spend the zakat. Their preference using gold zakat rate are due to five factors, ranging from lack of knowledge, assumption that swallow's nest is not a part of agricultural business, easy calculation in giving zakat using gold rate, following the previous swallow's nest owners, to easiness to determine the zakat recipients and spending period. Meanwhile, three forms of deviation from Islamic law existing at the practice urges the specific legal product concerning this specific commodity. © 2023 by Al-Ihkam, Jurnal Hukum dan Pranata Sosial.

Legal Policy of Anti-Corruption Supervisor Design: A New Anti-Corruption Model in Indonesia
Bestuur
Abstract
Corruption is a fact of life in Indonesia and has a significant negative impact. The malicious intention of corruption in Indonesia has normatively shifted in terms of its meaning, adjusting to its opportunity. However, the increase in corruption in Indonesia is not accompanied by a legal policy of anti-corruption supervisor design. This study analyzes the legal procedure of strengthening supervision for corruption prevention in realizing good governance. The results indicate that the derived meaning of malicious intention of corruption in the old order, new order, and reform era gradually reduces the significance of adversarial nature from the perspective of public morality and the state's ideology. The Corruption Eradication Commission has been given authority to prevent and prosecute criminal acts of corruption. Establishing anti-corruption institutions in the regions serves as an anti-corruption enforcement agency and a control and monitoring system for government administration in all agencies to achieve good governance. © Sebelas Maret University Faculty of Law. Mediating Role of Operational Performance in the Relationship of Total Quality Management, Green Information Technology, Supply Chain Management and Firm Performance
International Journal of Operations and Quantitative Management
Abstract
In recent years, there has been a surge of interest in the influence of operational performance activities on the performance of manufacturing organizations. In comparison to other industrialized countries, Iraq's manufacturing enterprises' supply chain management (SCM), total quality management (TQM), and green information technology (GIT) are still in their early stages of improving their operational performance (OP) and firm performance (FP) (FP). However, the Iraq manufacturers companies should place a bigger emphasis on the importance. In this regard, the current study's purpose is to check mediating role of OP in the interaction of SCM, TQM, GIT and FP of manufacturing enterprises in Iraq. The data collection, self-administered by employing a convenient sampling strategy, was distributed across the manufacturing enterprises in Iraq and employed a quantitative research approach, cross-sectional research design and Partial Least Square (PLS)-Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) technique. The PLS-SEM results reveal that overall, TQM has a minor impact on OP while also having an insignificant and favorable impact on FP. In comparison, SCM has a favorable and considerable impact on the OP and FP. GIT also have a beneficial and big impact on OP and FP. The direct influence of OP also reveals that it has a good and significant impact on FP. The indirect mediating impact OP suggests that it did not mediate between the TQM and FP while considerably mediates the relationship between SCM and FP and GIT and FP. These added a body of literature to the earlier literature by employing GIT as an independent and OP mediating variable regarded as a pioneer study. © 2022, International Forum of Management Scholars.
