This study explores the relationship between children's YouTube viewing habits and various psychological outcomes. The research is guided by the need to understand how exposure to certain types of content influences cognitive, emotional, and behavioral development. Data was gathered through a mixed-method approach, combining surveys of children's viewing preferences with psychological assessments. Findings indicate a significant correlation between exposure to specific content, such as educational videos and entertainment channels, and children’s attention span, emotional regulation, and social behaviors. The study also identifies possible risks associated with excessive screen time, including negative impacts on self-esteem and social skills. This paper offers critical insights into the importance of parental guidance and media literacy in managing children's YouTube consumption, providing recommendations for future research and policy development in media regulation.
Zamna Idyan Copyright (c) 2025 Zamna Idyan https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 https://publish.ojs-indonesia.com/index.php/SIKONTAN/article/view/2782 Wed, 30 Apr 2025 00:00:00 +0000 EXPLORING CULTURAL, POLITICAL, AND SOCIOECONOMIC INFLUENCES ON COLLECTIVE PSYCHOLOGICAL RESILIENCE IN LIBYA https://publish.ojs-indonesia.com/index.php/SIKONTAN/article/view/2784
This study explores the factors that shape collective psychological resilience in Libya, particularly in the context of the nation’s recent political instability, economic challenges, and complex cultural dynamics. The paper examines how these elements interact to strengthen or undermine community resilience, using a mixed-methods approach. Through qualitative interviews and quantitative data analysis, this research identifies key determinants of psychological resilience, focusing on cultural values, social capital, and economic conditions in Libyan society. Political instability, compounded by a decade of conflict, has forced communities to adapt and develop unique forms of resilience. This study also delves into the role of familial and community structures in coping with adversity, as well as the impact of government policies and foreign influence on the collective psyche of Libyan citizens. The findings suggest that while political and socioeconomic factors have undeniably shaped resilience, cultural influences rooted in communal solidarity and the importance of social support networks have played a central role in fostering psychological resilience. Understanding these complex factors is crucial for designing interventions aimed at improving mental health and social stability in post-conflict societies. The paper concludes with recommendations for policy makers and international organizations seeking to enhance psychological resilience through culturally appropriate and context-sensitive strategies.
Mowafg Abrahem Masuwd, Najah Baroud Copyright (c) 2025 Mowafg Abrahem Masuwd, Najah Baroud https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 https://publish.ojs-indonesia.com/index.php/SIKONTAN/article/view/2784 Wed, 30 Apr 2025 00:00:00 +0000 A COMPREHENSIVE STUDY ON MBG (MAKAN BERGIZI GRATIS) IN THE PRABOWO-GIBRAN CABINET: EVALUATING THE PSYCHOLOGICAL AND HEALTH IMPACTS OF THE POLICY ON UNDERSERVED COMMUNITIES https://publish.ojs-indonesia.com/index.php/SIKONTAN/article/view/2783
The Makan Bergizi Gratis (MBG) initiative, launched under the Prabowo-Gibran cabinet, aims to tackle food insecurity and malnutrition in Indonesia by providing free nutritious meals to underserved populations. This study evaluates the impact of the MBG program on both physical health and psychological well-being, focusing on how access to free, balanced meals influences the health and mental health outcomes of beneficiaries. A mixed-methods approach was used, combining qualitative interviews with stakeholders, quantitative health data, and psychological assessments of MBG recipients. The results indicate significant improvements in physical health, including reductions in malnutrition rates, stunting, and underweight, particularly among children. Furthermore, the study finds that MBG positively impacts psychological well-being by reducing anxiety, alleviating stress related to food insecurity, and enhancing self-esteem. Participants reported feeling more secure and less stressed about their daily nutrition, which translated into improved mood and cognitive function. However, logistical challenges, such as distribution delays and quality control, remain obstacles to the program’s widespread effectiveness. The study also underscores the importance of integrating psychological support services with nutritional assistance to maximize the program’s holistic impact. Overall, the MBG initiative has proven to be a promising model for improving both physical health and mental well-being, providing insights for other nations grappling with food insecurity and malnutrition.
Peni Cahyati Teguh Pancani, Nurna Ningsih Copyright (c) 2025 Peni Cahyati Teguh Pancani, Nurna Ningsih https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 https://publish.ojs-indonesia.com/index.php/SIKONTAN/article/view/2783 Wed, 30 Apr 2025 00:00:00 +0000 AN ISLAMIC LEGAL PERSPECTIVE ON CONTEMPORARY HEALTH ISSUES: INTEGRATING TRADITIONAL AND MODERN APPROACHES https://publish.ojs-indonesia.com/index.php/SIKONTAN/article/view/2785
This article explores the intersection of Islamic law and modern health practices, analyzing how traditional Islamic principles address contemporary health issues such as mental health, medical ethics, and the use of modern medicine. Islam has long had a profound influence on the healthcare practices of its followers, with guidelines rooted in the Qur'an and Hadith (sayings of the Prophet Muhammad). However, with the rapid development of modern medical technologies and global health challenges, there has been a growing need to reconsider Islamic legal principles in relation to modern health needs. This study presents an in-depth analysis of how Islamic jurisprudence can contribute to health policy in the modern world, focusing on issues like bioethics, reproductive health, and patient rights. Through a critical examination of primary Islamic texts and contemporary scholarly interpretations, the article provides a framework for reconciling Islamic legal doctrines with emerging health challenges. The findings indicate that while Islamic teachings can offer significant guidance in medical decision-making, there remains a need for continuous reinterpretation of Islamic jurisprudence to address the complexities of modern healthcare.
Naser Ali Abdulghani, Safa Husayn Alrumayh Copyright (c) 2025 Naser Ali Abdulghani, Safa Husayn Alrumayh https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 https://publish.ojs-indonesia.com/index.php/SIKONTAN/article/view/2785 Wed, 30 Apr 2025 00:00:00 +0000 CONTEMPORARY HEALTH: NAVIGATING MODERN CHALLENGES AND INNOVATIONS IN GLOBAL HEALTHCARE SYSTEMS https://publish.ojs-indonesia.com/index.php/SIKONTAN/article/view/2786
Contemporary health refers to the dynamic intersection of modern medicine, technological innovations, global health challenges, and the evolving understanding of well-being. This study investigates how these interrelated domains shape the mental health and behavioral outcomes of children across urban and rural settings in Ghana. Using a mixed-methods approach, we conducted surveys and semi-structured interviews with caregivers, educators, and child development professionals in Accra, Kumasi, Tamale, and selected rural communities. The findings reveal that traditional communal child-rearing practices provide a sense of security and identity, but they are increasingly strained by urbanization, economic hardship, and shifting family structures. Furthermore, socioeconomic inequality and limited access to mental health services contribute to developmental challenges, especially in underserved regions. Cultural beliefs, including stigmatization of disability and supernatural interpretations of psychological distress, further complicate early diagnosis and intervention. Despite these challenges, Ghana’s strong extended family systems and community networks remain potential assets for culturally adapted psychological support. This study emphasizes the need for contextually informed child mental health policies, inclusive education strategies, and family-centered interventions. By understanding Ghana’s unique social and cultural landscape, we can better support children’s psychological resilience and development in sub-Saharan African contexts.
Isaac Anobi Asare, Joseph Dotse Komla Plahar Copyright (c) 2025 Isaac Anobi Asare, Joseph Dotse Komla Plahar https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 https://publish.ojs-indonesia.com/index.php/SIKONTAN/article/view/2789 Wed, 30 Apr 2025 00:00:00 +0000
